Psst (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a Shopify application operated by The Night Project. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our application.

2. Information We Collect

From Merchants (Store Owners)

  • Shopify store domain and name
  • Shopify session and authentication tokens
  • App configuration and settings you choose
  • Billing and subscription information via Shopify

From Customers (Store Visitors)

  • Sender name and email address (the person sending the hint)
  • Recipient name and email address (the person receiving the hint)
  • Product information included in the hint (title, image, price, URL)

We do not collect payment information directly. All billing is handled through Shopify’s billing system.

3. How We Use Information

  • To send hint emails on behalf of store customers
  • To provide analytics and reporting to merchants
  • To manage subscriptions and usage-based billing
  • To improve and maintain our service

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Psst:

  • Shopify — app hosting, authentication, and billing
  • MailJunky.ai — email delivery service for sending hint emails
  • Railway — application hosting and database infrastructure

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing their handling of data.

5. Data Retention

Hint logs (sender, recipient, product details) are retained for as long as the merchant’s account is active to provide analytics. When a merchant uninstalls the app, their data is deleted within 30 days.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), secure database hosting, and access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your information.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Merchants can delete their data by uninstalling the app. Customers who have received hint emails can contact us to request data deletion.

8. Cookies

Psst does not use tracking cookies on storefronts. We use Shopify’s standard session management for the merchant admin interface.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify merchants of significant changes via the app dashboard.
